Đặt vấn đề: Tăng huyết áp và béo phì là hai tình trạng bệnh lý ngày càng phổ biến ở nước ta cũng như trên thế giới, mặc dù vậy tại Việt Nam những người trẻ đặc biệt là sinh viên thường ít quan tâm đến những chỉ số sức khoẻ của mình, điều này làm tăng nguy cơ mắc bệnh và dẫn đến khả năng trầm trọng hơn khi tuổi tác tăng dần. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Sinh viên năm nhất khoá K26 hệ đại học chính quy thuộc Trường Đại học Duy Tân. Phương pháp chọn mẫu: Chọn mẫu nhiều giai đoạn. Cỡ mẫu thu được: 1873 sinh viên. Phương pháp thu thập số liệu: Dựa vào số liệu khám lâm sàng. Kết quả: Tỉ lệ thừa cân béo phì trong Tân sinh viên của trường Đại học Duy Tân là 8.8%, tỉ lệ tăng huyết áp là 4.4%. Chúng tôi đã tìm thấy mối liên quan giữa giới tính với thừa cân, béo phì và tăng huyết áp. Đồng thời các sinh viên thừa cân béo phì có nguy cơ mắc tăng huyết áp cao gấp 4.34 lần so với các sinh viên khác. Kiến nghị: Nhà trường và gia đình cần phối hợp trong việc khuyến khích sinh viên dự phòng tăng huyết áp và thừa cân béo phì thông qua việc cân đối thời gian học tập, nghỉ ngơi, rèn luyện thể dục thể thao và ăn uống. Giới trẻ cần theo dõi thường xuyên các chỉ số cơ thể và khám sức khoẻ định kì để hạn chế các ảnh hưởng xấu của bệnh sau này.

Obesity and hypertension among university students

Problem:
Hypertension and obesity are two diseases that are increasingly common in our country as well as in the world. However, in Vietnam, young people, especially students, often pay little attention to them. This negligence increases the risk of disease and might leads to more severe exacerbations as age increases. Objectives: First year students from full-time undergraduate program course K26 of Duy Tan University. Methods: Multi-stage sampling. Sample size obtained: 1873 students. Data collection was based on clinical data. Result: The rate of overweight and obesity among the first-year students of Duy Tan University is 8.8%, the rate of hypertension is 4.4%. We found an association between sex and overweight, obesity, and increased blood pressure. At the same time, overweight and obese students have 4.34 times higher risk of hypertension than other students. Recommendation: The university and families need to coordinate in encouraging students to prevent hypertension and overweight obesity through the balance of study time, rest, exercise and food. Young people need to regularly monitor their body
indexes and have regular physical exams to limit the adverse effects of the disease in the future.
